A few reminders.  Last year at this time we had done a 5k time trial, raced at Benzie 5k, done 2x1 mile time trial and a 3x1 mile time trial.  We were much more "race ready" last year than this year and many of you are ahead of last year!  If you're not ahead of last year then no worries, we're up to "race ready" in the next few weeks.

Girls - without Carlie (doctor appointment) and Bri (knee issue) I am impressed with the way that the younger girls stepped up to race hard today.  The Massey twins have improved greatly from their middle school times and sit as our #1 and #3 girls today, sandwiched between senior Allison Kowatch who was also 42 seconds faster than last year!  #4 girl Amanda Keysor also won a medal for placing top 10 in the 9th grade race as did Nadia Keller.   Zoe Palmer also earned a medal for a 3 minute improvement and a top 10 finish and a varsity point!!  No team scores are kept at this meet as it is run by grade.

Boys - Senior Zak Goddard led the way with a solid medal winning run of 17:30, almost a minute faster than his all-regional 2015 season here.  Zak has pounded serious summer miles and even without speedwork or any races yet this season he is right where he left off last year.  His time today ranked him as our 6th fastest boy on this course since 2005, impressive.  In the freshman race, Jacob Book was our medal winner placing 6th.  Our super sophomore group of Ethan Huey, Andrew Quaal and Nick Green all medalled.  I think this sophomore group is one of the best I have seen since the Howard/Fischer/Callison group a few years back.  In the Junior race - Derek Giallombardo and Kenny Smith had nice medal winning races and senior Justin Desloover rounded out our day of top ten finishes.

XC teams back in action at the MUD RUN on Sept. 10th.

Practice today Sept 1 at 3pm at GHS.  PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PARK IN FRONT PARKING LOT.
